Great news: a bursary at Carleton University is being established in Katie's name! A living legacy that will support women studying engineering who are active in their communities that enjoy sports.
To be self-sustaining a significant initial contribution is required. Katie's family, colleagues and friends are hoping to get the word out and encourage donations to the bursary.

The Brendan S. Beck Fund for Sustainable Infrastructure been created in memory of Brendan S. Beck (BSCE ’98) who lost his life in the January 12, 2010 Haiti earthquake when he was trapped in the Hotel Montana. The earthquake occurred shortly after Brendan arrived in Haiti as a USAID consultant regarding sustainable infrastructure for eco-tourism to provide long-term benefit to the Haitian economy.
Brendan had planned to return to the University of Florida to pursue an advanced engineering degree. In his graduate application, Brendan stated, “Throughout the United States and the world, there are aging infrastructure systems that are in need of repair and replacement. A thorough comprehension of the interrelation of infrastructure and environment can pay dividends in this field by minimizing costs, increasing lifecycle and decreasing environmental impacts.” He felt that the University of Florida faculty has a vast amount of expertise in diverse fields that he wanted to draw from in his studies.
For this reason, the family of Brendan S. Beck has created this fund so that others might have the opportunity to pursue this knowledge and research.

Stephanie's life was tragically cut short by the Haiti Earthquake. We take comfort in knowing that she was doing what she enjoyed most: working with and caring for the poorest of the poor. Stephanie leaves behind family and friends who love her dearly as well as others that may have only known her beautiful smile.
Many have indicated a desire to help. We have just established The Stephanie Crispinelli Humanitarian Fund in partnership with the Westchester Community Foundation. Donations are 100% tax deductible. All funds raised will be used to continue Stephanie’s passion for helping the poor by supporting non-profit, US-based charities.
If you would like to join us in furthering Stephanie's mission, please make a check out to Stephanie Crispinelli Humanitarian Fund and send to:
