SAR Teams arrived in Haiti the day after the earthquake hit. Some stayed one day while others remained at Hotel Montana 24 hours a day digging through rubble to find the bodies of those missing.
The Haiti Government decided that all rescue efforts would end after January 24th but SAR kept finding and rescuing survivors for weeks after this.
Those at Hotel Montana made a committment to not stop digging and removing rubble until ALL bodies were recovered.
These men, women and dogs came from all over: Mexico, Canada, USA, France, Italy. Many Haitians volunteered as well. The Haitians were the first responders on site, digging with bare hands at times, hoping to/and succeeding in finding survivors the first few days.
